Op zaterdag 13 maart komt Lody Duindam
van Token Sugita weer naar Amsterdam.

Hatakeyama Sensei passed away
Dear all, Hatakeyama sensei has passed
away yesterday (09/12/2009) in a hospital.
The funeral is held by only his family.

All federations and organisations were together for two days when the Doshu,
Sensei of Sensei's, showed us his Aikido;
The art of his family.
The Yuwakai-organisation took him for a trip through the canals of Amsterdam and to the Rijksmuseum. Also he enjoyed the walk back to the Golden Tulip- Apollo Hotel through a light, typical Dutch rain.

From 6th till 8th November we will have a very special event in Holland. This is due to the fact that Holland and Japan celebrate their 400 years of trade relations.
For this reason many Budokan related Shihan will come to Amsterdam. Besides the "official" activities we managed also to find the sensei’s willing to give a special additional day of practice

Japanese Budo Delegation in the Netherlands

In accordance with the commemoration of “400 years of trade between Japan and the Netherlands”, we have received an formal invitation from Amstelveen as part of their “2009 Commemoration of 400 years of trade between Japan and the Netherlands Activities”.
As such, we seek to contribute to fostering international friendship through the dispatch of a group of representatives of Japanese Budo.
In addition to displaying the essence of Japanese Budo, we will conduct seminars, hands-on experience and training sessions in Japanese Budo in order to further promote the international understanding of Budo.

De pilotfilm "Between Ears, Willem "
Hoi allemaal,
zoals sommigen van jullie weten is meer dan een jaar geleden een regiseusse langs geweest bij Willem om een documentaire te maken over hem en zijn iPod.
Na een lange en moeizame montage is de film nu eindelijk af.
De premiere zal binnenkort zijn, maar hier onder vinden jullie alvast een
korte trailer

Ik denk dat het jullie allemaal goed zal doen om Willem weer even te zien en zijn stem te horen.

De Doshu komt naar Nederland

Hierbij laat ik je weten dat de Doshu rondom het weekeind van 14 & 15 november 2009 naar Nederland komt om de samenwerking van de organisaties in de nieuwe bond te ondersteunen.
Op de FOG vergadering van 15 maart 2009 wordt besproken hoe we het gaan organiseren.

Met grote ontsteltenis heben wij het bericht ontvangen dat
Theo van Kralingen op 3 december is te komen overlijden.
Theo was voor ons aikidoka's een trouwe en toegewijde trainingsmaatje. Wij zullen hem erg missen.

Dear All
Sadly we have to inform you that our dear mr Willem Bekink passed away peacefully last Tuesday april 8th. Willem always has been our mentor who inspirfriended us in all aspects of japanese swordfighting. He was one of the pioneers in Dutch kendo and later in his life in Katori Shinto Ryu in which he was so passionately involved. Willem had a long and adventurous life and was always willing to share his experiences and knowledge with the younger generations. His integrity, courage and passion for life combined with his famous sense of humour is a shining example of a true martial artist. We also want to mention that in his role as shidosha of Katori Shinto Ryu he was a dignified representative of our tradition.
We will always remember him. Let us try to live our lifes according to the high standards he advocated.
